Frequency input key pad for radios (Yaesu, ICOM)
The YAESU FT-817 as well as the IC-706 and IC-703 from ICOM are very interesting, handy little devices to be QRV from a vacation QTH or mobile.
The FT-817 in particular is very small, yet has many integrated functions and covers a wide frequency range. Due to the constant miniaturization of the devices, it is no longer possible to place all the controls on the front panel.
A keypad for direct frequency input is usually missing, and this would be most useful for rapid frequency changes.
